Our Impact

What do you remember about elementary school? For me, it was definitely the ice cream social, the book fair, and the all-school carnival where individual classrooms were transformed into hubs of fun and games where you could win prizes. The cakewalk room…definitely took the cake! At Art Changes People, we are all about creating that same experience of novelty and fun: out-of-time, out-of-the-ordinary, and attach it to teachings that prepare students not just for a job or an assignment, but to be visionaries and big thinkers: the kind of leaders our world desperately needs!

Art for the Sky programs have existed for 20 years. In the past 5 years, excluding 2020 and 2021 due to Covid, we have averaged 20 programs per year, which amounts to roughly 50,000 students benefitting! ACP’s goal for the 2023/2024 school year is to DOUBLE that impact by making the program available to schools who would otherwise not be able to afford it. That’s 10,000 more children who will learn about Sky Sight and therefore expand their view of the world and their place in it. 10,000 children who will have a safe and open space in which to discuss concerns about the climate, and to increase their hope because we are working together to make the world better. And 10,000 children who will experience something so novel and so astonishing that they will remember if for a lifetime.

As part of our transition into a nonprofit model, we have developed pre-, immediately-post, and several months-post questionnaires to track the program’s direct impact. In the meantime, we have the following testimonials to share, and we look forward to presenting our 1st impact report in 2024.
